Steve Donahue, Penn Basketball Head Coach and our March Madness guest analyst of the day, joined us today to discuss the NCAA Tournament, the ACC, and the role of academics in athletics throughout the NCAA.
He had some harsh opinions toward some more popular trends toward paying college athletes:
"There is a value to this education that is being overlooked at the highest level—it's not just the four years of the education, it's the forty years after that these kids will benefit. I think the higher level teams have lost their way a little bit—I don't have all the answers, but paying the players, to me, is not the answer.”
